Parking Permits

All 2024-25 Permits must be ordered online - Online Sales begin June 1!
Permits will be available for pickup in the NEW Parking Services office - 218 N 6th Street - between Burford and Erickson on 6th Street - look for the bright blue awning. Please allow 2 business days for processing.
All permits purchased after July 31 will be held in office for pickup. Bring ISU ID for pickup. **Allow 2 business days for processing before attempting to pick up your permit. You will NOT receive an email concerning the pick-up of your permit.

Permits purchased in the office may be subject to a $15 surcharge.

Permit Options
Adjunct faculty members are now able to use payroll deduction for their parking permit purchase.
*Adjunct faculty that do not have an appointment for the Spring semester must return the permit to parking Services by January 30, 2022 to avoid being charged for the unpaid balance of the permit

Allows the user to park in any Staff lot, remote lot, or staff/student lot on the Indiana State campus or any Indiana State remote lot (excluding metered, pay or specialty lots; i.e. Psychology Lot). Faculty members, exempt and non-exempt full-time employees and non-student temporary employees shall be defined as staff for purposes of vehicle registration.

In Fall 2019, University officials began discussions in regard to parking garage permit changes. . As a result of these studies, parking garage permits will have two separate distinctions beginning Fall 2020. Students will be able to purchase a Garage permit which will allow them to park in the garage and any student (excluding Resident Lots 10 and 14 after 9:00 pm, Sunday – Thursday), remote or staff/student lot (no staff only lots). Faculty/Staff will be able to purchase a Garage permit that will allow them to park in the garage and any staff, remote or staff/student lot (no student only lots).
This change will take effect beginning August 16, 2020.

Remote parking permits are available for faculty, staff, and students. This permit allows the user to only park in the ISU remote lots. Remote lots include the Lot D Ext (9th and Eagle behind Lot D), Lot Q (8th and Tippecanoe), Lot N (11th and Chestnut), Lot K (2nd and Chestnut), Baseball Lot (1st and Locust), and the ISU University Apartments (1st and Farrington and 1st and Crawford). All remote lots will be open to any Faculty, Staff, or Student. REMOTE PERMITS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN "STAFF/STUDENT" LOTS OR ON 4TH/5TH STREET. **Now eligible for Payroll Deduction.

Handicap parking permits are available for faculty, staff, and students who are qualified under Indiana Code 0-18-22. Documentation is required. Allows the user to park in any surface lot or motorcycle space. Moped and motorcycles shall affix the parking permit to the left front fork of the vehicle.
Parking
Guests on campus may purchase a $5/day guest permit in Parking Services. Guest permits allow the user to park in any regular surface lot (no specialty lots or spaces) for the day. Guests may also pay $1/hour or $6/day in the Parking Garage or $2/hour or $12/day in the West Visitor Lot. Meters and Pay stations are also available for guest parking for $1/hour.
Departments may order permits for their guest by filling out the Department Guest Request form and emailing it to ISU-Parking@810zc.com. Please allow at least 5 business days for processing.

ISU Parking Pay Stations
ISU Parking Pay Stations are fast, easy and flexible. Parking Pay Stations are available in the Short-term North Pay Station lot (5th Street on the North side of HMSU) and the Pavilion Lot (corner of 7th and Larry Bird) or the 6-hour West Fire Lane lot in front of Rhoades/Mills. To purchase time at the pay station:
- Each parking space is designated a number. Please note the number for your parking space and walk to the pay station.
- Press any key to refresh the screen.
- Enter the parking space number into the pay station and then choose the amount of time you wish to park. Parking is $1/hr with a maximum of two hours for North and Pavilion lots – 6 hour max in West Fire Lane lot.
- Wait for the screen to ask for payment and bills or credit card into the machine. The machines accept VISA/MasterCard/Discover credit/debit cards. *No change or refunds given - when paying with bills use exact amount.
Cherry Street Parking Garage and West Visitor Pay Lot (Credit Card only payment at Exit)
Parking is available for $1/hr or $6/12 hr period in the Cherry Street Parking Garage which is located at the corner of 8th and Cherry Street. Parking is $2/hr or $12/12 hour period in the West Visitor Pay Lot which is located on Chestnut Street between 4th and 5th Streets.
To park in the parking garage:
- Pull into the garage at the entrance gate and take a ticket from the dispenser.
- Display the ticket on your dash.
- Exit the garage by pulling up to the self-service parking pay station located in the far right lane.
- Insert your ticket into the machine level with the arrow facing up and pointed at the machine.
- Wait for the machine to give the parking total and ask for payment. The machine will accept Visa/MasterCard/Discover.
University Visitor's West Lot
Parking is available for $2/hr or $12/12 hr period in the University Visitor's West Lot which is located on Chestnut Street between 4th and 5th Streets. The lot is a 24 hr lot and payment is required upon exit.
Parking Garage
Parking is available for $1/hr or $6/12 hr period in the University Parking Garage which is located on Cherry Street between 7th and 8th Streets. The garage is a 24 hr garage and payment is required upon exit.

Parking in Unauthorized Spaces
Vehicles parked in unmarked areas owned by ISU that are not designated as a parking lot by signage will be towed at the owner's expense.
Eagle Street
Eagle Street between 8th & 9th Street and Lot 20 will be closed on all ISU Basketball game days.
